Default NJH-S2-E5 (May Meeting) Are we there yet???

Here's our May thread. Our cauldron Creep seems like an endless but extremely fun project. We should be able to pretty much wrap it up this month.

The only weekend that is definatly out for me is the 12th. The week prior I have to get to the airport on Saturday, but a meeting could happen if we can't find an alternative date. I'm going to suggest we meet on May 19th (Sat). As always, democracy prevails, so let's hear from everyone about what date works best.

May 5 is National Haunters Convention which I'll be going to so that day's out for me, so it looks like you'll be able to go to the airport unless Bob really, really, really wants to meet that day.

The 19th works for me as my calendar is wide open that day, so I've lightly pencilled it in (just in case Bob really, really, really doesn't want to meet that day).

Looking forward to completing the Creep and moving on. Not that I don't like working on him, but he and the cauldron are taking up lots of room in my garage. Of course, I have no idea where I going to put him after we're done. Looks like I'll need to do some under-porch cleaning to rearrange things. Or I could just store it at your house Greg.

I'll take care of the food this time. How about some steak, corn on the cob, and taters? Bob can bring his macaroni salad. Since it will almost be Memorial Day, let's have a good hearty American meal!

I've also just finished getting the head movement on my Creep adjusted. He no longer looks up to the stars (though at one point I thought he'd be trying to look at his ass he was craning so far back). I also attached the wires to his head as Steve's Haunted Yard did, so now he has a side-to-side movement as well as up and down.

I think I'll be giving him Monster Mud clothes instead of just creepy cloth. For one, it will provide a bit of protection to the vent motor from the weather, for another, I'm slowly converting my haunt into a haunted monastery so I've already got a couple of monks running around. This will just be one of the dead ones who's been resurrected to stir the cauldron.

Speaking of protecting the motor, does the wiper motor need protection? It will be exposed directly to the elements and I was wondering about shorting out or rusting or whatever.

The wiper motor and the vent motor should be OK for "some" moisture. They are automotive parts and therefore required to survive the elements. But it'd be nice to hear from others for a more official declaration on the componants weather proof-ed-ness.

Edit... Oh Yea.. that menu sounds GREAT... I'm in.... Bob??

I'm wondering if some sort of "umbrella" could be made for the motor just to keep the rain (or snow, if last year was any indication) off of it. Maybe some sort of threaded rod to take the place of the bolt that holds the motor arm in place? On top of that could be placed the "umbrella" -- a plastic plate or something? -- so the rain falls around the motor not on it, while not interfering with the movement of the stick.

Maybe we're over-engineering again though. With all the Creeps having been made, I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with weather.

Nah.... Just use some of that Saran wrap you had left over...or a piece of cardboard....

I'm really doubting that the wiper motor needs much if any protection...

Rich, the monestary thing sounds cool. I remember a member from my church asked me to do a haunted house a few years ago in their old convent to help the church the place is huge and looks haunted to i said ok....they were not in love with the idea of satanic priests and nuns and that feel through...lol after that they lost interest i think they wanted scooby doo jumpinng out at people. Eastern state prison plays on convicts i was doing the same thing. Nuns are scary..lol

You know, I was just looking at the heading for this thread. What the hell does NJH S2-E5 mean? Is that the combination to the locker with your porn stash, Greg?
