Default Lizzyborden's 2017 Pumpkin Minion

Have you ever heard rustling sounds in the pumpkin patch? More than likely it’s the Pumpkin Minion protecting his prized pumpkins. Beware! That pumpkin in his hand may be small, but he packs quite a punch!

It all started with a styrofoam pumkin from Dollar Tree and …

some coat hangers…

and lots of masking tape, paper towels, toilet paper and paper mache paste…

and paint with a bit of walnut ink added just before sealing

Materials:

12 wire clothes hangers – free
Newspaper – free
1 styrofoam pumpkin $1
1 mini Styrofoam pumpkin (pack of 10 assorted $2) .20
1 roll masking tape .96
Flour for paper mache paste (5 lb. bag $1.65) used approx. 1 lb. .33
Viva paper towels (6-pack $5.99 on sale, 59 sheets per roll) .27
Cheap 1-ply toilet paper 26 sheets (1250 sheets $1) .03
Black latex paint ($16.99 gallon) approx. 1/10 can $1.70
Spar Varnish ($39.97 gallon) approx. 1/10 can $4.00
Assorted acrylic paints (2 oz. bottle .50) approx. total used 2 oz. .50
Homemade Walnut ink (water and walnut hulls – free, isopropyl alcohol $1) $1.00

Total cost: $9.99

Thanks for all the great comments! I have to credit Pumpkinrot, John Wolfe, and Stolloween for this one as it was their tutorials I first discovered many years ago. Also an additional thank you is due to Stolloween for influencing my love/hate realationship with TP.

When I get back home, I'll try and get some additional pictures posted.
