Default Save Madame Sarita

Well, I finally got around to making a web page about our new attraction for the 2007 season: Save Madame Sarita.

In Save Madame Sarita, our hostess from previous years, Madame Sarita, has been sucked into the spirit world, and the ToT's have to learn some spellcasting to go save her from the evil clutches of Marius Blackwood.

Kids take on the roles of Mystics, Mages, and Mediums to cooperatively cast spells at the evil creatures that inhabit the spirit world. The Mystic is responsible for generating mana for their spells by waving her hands over a crystal ball. The Medium is responsible for directing the mana at their foes by pointing at it with the Skull of Rasputin. And the Mage is responsible for using the Casting Cards of Marie Laveau to cast the spells.

Cooperatively, they make their way into the spirit world and save Madame Sarita from Marius. They even get a score at the end to compare with their friends.

To see photos, a behind-the-scenes, and video, visit the web page.

That is really cool and original. I'm always so impressed with what you come up with for Madame Sarita. Very cool.

I also wanted to say that I had the same idea but I actually went out and bought buttons from older standup video games. I was going to use them the same way. That is really cool the way you did that though. Again, always guys are always my fav.

Glad you liked it, DeathTouch. We really try to do something different and fun for the kids each year.

So what were you going to use for your video game with the buttons and stuff that you bought? Do you make video games, too, or did you have some other clever idea that, ahem, we might be able to cannibalize.

I was always interested in making video games but never got into it much. Wish I had. I think I had told you about my idea before. I was thinking about adding it to the magic mirror idea. I was going to put three lighted up button in front of the user. Each button represents a certain tarro card image. The computer with each user would randomize that the user would get if he or she selects a certain buttton. After the user pushes the button an animatronic show would turn on and the Magic Mirror would tell the user what he or she won.

That's right - when you mentioned the randomizing what each visitor would get, that rung the bell.

Sounds like a fun extension to the core idea, and would be a way to make an unmanned version of the Mirror (or some effect like it) a little more interactive. Assuming you could find a way to automate the output of goodies...
