Default North TX M&T - June/July

Ok, with the Garage of Evil event getting canceled I'm having withdrawal symptoms. We need to get another event scheduled. I'm open to just about any weekend the rest of June or July including the 4th if we wanted to combine prop building and fireworks watching.

What days work for everyone?

Yep, I'm having withdrawls too - we will be out of town next weekend, and the 4th of july weekend, but I think that Saturday the 27th is open. Man, summer weekends are busy around here, but I'm missing my M/Ts!

I'm not sure of my schedule yet. I only know that I can't do it next weekend either - I'll be at the new stadium most of the day.

What project(s) were you thinking about?

I should be able to make this one. I'm up for anything.

Since I think we are in for summer temperatures for a few months I'm voting for anything that can be done at least partially inside.

So how does either July 11th or 18th work for everyone?

I'd love to learn how to make the LED spots but I'm open to just about anything. We talked about having a technical and a more creative project option. What else do people have on their list to do?

For me....more tombstones, a signpost, a stirring cauldron, acid barrels, a fog chiller, a few corpses, and maybe a mauseleum.

lol....I have a unique prop in mind that will require some ingenuity and assistance. "The Drowning Pool". I need a video loop of a person drowning behind a window as if trapped in an isolation (floatation) tank. Like one of those used in the movie Altered States.

What about building a sealed frame with two pieces of plexi that an actor could stand behind. Basically a dual pane window with water between the panes.

Maybe you could add a small aquarium pump to provide air bubbles in the water.

The objective is to use the video to play on an LCD monitor built into the prop instead of using an actor. The prop would have a synchronized environment by controlling a thumping on the inside of the tank..and maybe a bit of water seepage.

ah ok....well you might be able to use the same concept (or even an aquarium) to get the footage that you need.
