You know, this contest has been run last year, and I encourage everyone to not just read the rules, but the discussion from last year as well. the link is:

ALOT of the same questions are answered there.
Oh! I almost forgot! What about sharing progress? I know this was an issue last year.

Oh duh...you said Ok to post progress. I need to read more carefully before posting.
I'd call Dr. Morbius's prop:
HalloweenRick's Mother-In-Law upon finding out her daughter's engagement.
Because it reminds me a lot of that moment...
LOL! I'm sure you'll feel vindicated when you see it finished...Not saying why,...yet.
Actually, it really IS the prop I submitted last year...It won 2nd place. So, you saw right!
My point still stands anyone who has the slightest interest in an automated prop will have a computer.

Are you banning stuff that uses mains electricity because the cost of an electrical generating grid isn't within the $20 budget, or that not everyone has electricity, after all there could be someone in the middle of Africa reading this forum!

Computers today are as much a utility as electricity, gas or water.

I know I've already lost this argument, but your point that not everyone has a computer on an internet forum is a little contradictory.
What are you a wise guy? I have TWO haunt neighbors who have self automated props who DON'T own computers, yet thier interest in automated props remains...Hmmmm.. and I have 4 automated props that don't use computers, even though I own 5 of them. I happen to know a guy who doesnt own a computer but uses one at a library to go online. I'm sure he's laughing at your post right now.
I think this has turned into a far bigger deal than it actually is
I agree..let's resume prop talk and forget about it.:D Soo..Phoenix, what'dja have in mind for your prop?
Oh Dr. Morbius-time for a little smack talk of my own-A little preview-if you will of my own prop--Still needs a little work, but I think you'll see by my tally at the bottom, I'm well within budget:

Old mat I found lying around the house: $5
Chains from my garage-oh-$5
Dressing my large muscular self in a loincloth and making raging noises-absoleutly FREE!
Just go ahead and give up now, good Dr.! Taunting is best served cold!!!
So long Phoenix, never really did get to know you except for your inane questions...
LOL! Good one.. Consider me taunted!
