Hello all,

One of the props I am building (revising actually) requires 4 pieces of square aluminum tubing, 1" square, 8' long.
Lowes wants $32 each for this!
I'm hoping someone can help me get this cheaper (?). I was hoping for $8 to $10 each.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Stuntroc

Try these guys:

The Dillsburg Aeroplane Works
Aircraft-Race Car-Machine Shop-Raw Materials
Charles T. Vogelsong
114 Sawmill Road, Dillsburg, Pa 17019
(717) 432-4589

We used to buy all kinds of metal from them to fabricate 1/4 scale remote controled race cars. They were fairly reasonable and will ship. But beware, they have such a large collection of aluminum that they have several grades. I forget what airplane grade is but I think it's 7075. You will probably use 4130 or 6061. Geez I hope I have the grade numbers corect, it's been a while. Either way, they were a great company when I used them 10 years ago.

Check with McMaster-Carr. They usually have good prices, but remember that aluminum is commodity and prices can change.
