I just pulled an ice cream maker and a paper shredder apart to look at the internals. They appear usable for something if I could reduce the RPM.
Does anyone know if household items like these would break down after long running times of a couple of hours? I guess I could just run the darn thing prior to using it in a prop and see, but I wondered if anyone else had luck in conversions.
I am half tempted to go snag a dryer that won't heat up anymore. It shouldn't be that hard to place a fuse and a switch prior to the motor. The only thing I don't know is what is the actual rpm of a motor like that not that once I get it I can't find that out also.
Any advice or warnings for that matter are always welcomed.
