Classic Horror Movie Death Match Bout #5

Okay, the last match was a dud for whatever reason, but this should be a better one. If none of you have seen these next two films, then I, Sinister, is giving you a homework assignment. These are two classic films that if you haven't seen, but instead have been watching any of the crappier offerings of the Friday the 13th, Halloween and Freddy films, then a big "shame, shame, shame" is coming to you along with a wet noodle beating.

That being said, we have not two, but THREE monsters clashing this time around. Universal and HMDM are proud to bring you Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolfman and Creature from that Black Lagoon. The first two are in a "versus" film to begin with, but added trouble comes their way with the evolutionary throwback, Gill Man. Boltneck, Wolfie and Creech are ready to throw down and so should you be. So get to watching these films if you haven't they're both great Saturday classic monster matinee films and are not to be missed. If you have seen them, get in and vote and then go watch them again. Nothing like a good second helping where these movies are concerned.

Nobody beats the Gill-man.
This is a good one, HMmm?
I'll have to choose the Creature. It's just a better movie.
The fight scene was real bad.
Now if you pitted "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" against the Creature.
A whole new ballgame there:D
Creech is indeed the better film. Nice little hottie, some of the best monster suit effects even to this day, and I thought the scenes where Creech was underwater was incredible. In FMTW, I felt Lugosi's stint as the Monster was a bit stilted and wooden. Chaney overacting as usual brought nothing new to his role as the whiny Larry Talbot. It was an entertaining piece, but like my buddy Raxl sez, nobody beats The Gill-Man.
I go with the gillman too. I really hated Lugosi as the monster and the fight scene at the end was just bad. Then, the movie just abruptly ends with the flooding of the castle and no knowledge of what happens to either monster.

some interesting trivia about this movie:
Originally, Lon Chaney was to play both the Wolf Man and the Frankenstein Monster, but the producers decided the make-up demands and schedule wouldn't permit this. However, late in life Chaney stated in an interview that he did play both monsters in the film.

The very first time we see the Frankenstein Monster, it is not Bela Lugosi in the makeup. Stuntman Eddie Parker also made appearances as the Monster - most noticeably during the final battle with the Wolfman.
Gotta go with the creature, for pretty much all the reasons everyone else has already stated.
Sweet I can finally vote on one of these because I have seen BOTH of these movies. Ditto
Had to go with the gills!
Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman is a solid Universal horror film; Creature is a classic. The Gill-Man rocks!
With an amazing no-holds barred victory, Creature From the Black Lagoon, not surprisingly, swims away with the win. Creech moves on and so do we. This thread is now closed.
