Hi all,
I have a lunging reaper that works intermittently, the sound and eyes work all the time but sometimes when you plug the power in, the mouth and lunging movement doesn’t do anything. Yet another time it will all work fine for a while then it will again stop lunging along with no mouth movement, any ideas anyone?

Is it possible that a couple of wires have come loose? How's your electronics skill?

Had the whole thing apart, right down to the circuit board and nothing is loose, broken or has come loose. That’s where my capabilities end I’m afraid.

Guess you could try the jiggle / poke test. Jiggle, poke and wiggle various wires, connectors, boxes, mechanical joints, etc. See if any specific area causes it to act up (or start working normally if it was acting up). Does it give any indication that it is trying to move? That might point to something mechanical binding. Or if it seems completely not doing anything, that might be more on the electrical side.

If it works sometimes, that does seem to suggest there is something which can be fixed to make it work all the time. Though if it was totally dead that might be more permanent.

What about gummed up gears...? without having seen the mechanics of the prop I am wondering based on age if there is mechanical binding going on. Some old grease or deteriorated plastic...
