Hi there. I was just wondering, what the most inexpensive, and relativly easy fence is to make. I was thinking a PVC fence. I did one when I volunteered with a haunt. ANy suggestions?
I made a wooden one out of wood lathe a few years ago. It was pretty cheap. I think I paid like 7 or 8 bucks for a bundle of lathe, and I think for my whole fence I used about 1 1/2 bundles, but my pickets are pretty close, with wider spaces you could get by with much less. Sorry I don't have better pics of it. It's just 2 1" x 2" furring strips with the lathe screwed to it.
I would also suggest wood, if your lucky, you might be able to find someone who is or has torn down an old cedar fence, take each picket and rip it lengthwise with a table saw so that you can get a couple pickets per board.
I use sheetrock pallets from Lowe's. They are made fom rough-hewn (?) strips and are perfect. I attach 2x4 scraps to the posts and just drop them in the ground.
