OK, so I finally got my hands on my nifty new FCG kit... I'm curious... how do you guys prefer to hang the rig up if it's going inside a window (not a mausoleum or something like that)? Hang it from the ceiling? Make a frame from 2x4 wood or from PVC?

I'm considering a frame, though hanging from the ceiling would be relatively simple... I'm just concerned about getting hooks that will be strong and not pull out of the drywall. :)

The way I did it was, I located the ceiling joists and screwed eye hooks into three of them, one for each arm and one for the head, then I just ran some 115lb dog chain from home depot from the eye hooks to the FCG rig

If you have wife like mine, she was horrified at the thought of putting holes in the wall for one night. We put the FCG in the bay window, so I had enough rooms to suspend our FCG from 2x4's across a set of sawhorses I had raised above a table. I hung a black sheet to cover the inside light. It worked great! This year though I am attempting to build the FCG its own crypt. Adds a little more to the haunt.

Our ghostie is in a bay window, and a framework that stood on either side of her would show, so she had to be supported from behind to hide the frame... DH & I made a stand based on an engine hoist's design. It's WAY over-engineered, but it gets the job done :)

BTW, Woody, you may have solved my FCG problem for 07. I'm putting Isabella in a different window this year, and running the rig from below may save my ceiling from a number of huge holes and my existing framework from being cut down by 1'! Thanks!!!
