I wasn't planning on making any kind of mad scientist prop this year but this turned out to be a happy up-cycling accident.

I needed the screen from a portable projection screen for a prop this year. I found this one at Goodwill for $6.99.

I only needed the retractable screen and I was going to get rid of the stand.

Then I realized it would be a perfect stand for a skeleton in a mad scientist laboratory.

I painted the stand flat black and added a skeleton.

Price List for Contest

Skeleton - $19.00
Portable Projector Screen - $6.99
Flat Black Paint - $1.00

Contest Total Cost: $26.99

Actual Price List:

The Grandin Road glow-in-the-dark skeleton arrived with pelvis and spine attachments broken. I was refunded the cost so it was free.

Screws and washers to fix the Skeleton: $4.24
Portable Projector Screen - $6.99
Flat Black Paint - $1.00

Non-Contest Total Cost: $12.23

Thanks for viewing my show and tell!

Nice reuse of an item for a prop. It is a fine line between keeping something for some future prop and being a pack rat because you know as soon as you throw something out you are going to need it. The trick is to try and not let it get out of control. LOL

That is perfect for a lab. And love that you up-cycled. I like dealing with Grandin Road, they are really fair about their products.

Perfect usage Haunti!
You can't have a mad scientist lab without a skelly.
You might have come in at the lowest budget.
Good luck!
