Hey all, for a female zombie prop I am in the process of making I wanted to make a set of feet. Can anyone suggest a easy way to make a mold and cast a pair of foam feet? I have two part foam already so that isn't a problem. Thanks all. :jol:

You could always make a quick lifecast of them from alginate and use a plater bandage mother mold. Then before the alginate has a chance to dry out fill with 2 pt foam. Whole mold should take only around 10-15 minutes to "dry." before filling with foam. The toes have nooks and cranies, so I wonder if the female wore nylons first...?

If you are going to cast many feet, they you should make a mold, but if you only need one pair, then I suggest carving feet out of pink foam. If you have a band saw (or one of those heated foam cutters) and a rotary tool, it won't take very long. Then you can just corpse it out. You can also cut toe nails out of plastic soda bottles. If you want more detail I can explain a little more and maybe provide pics, but you may think I'm a crackpot, so I won't do so unless you ask. :)

Slimy, yeah it has to have bare feet. I guess my zombie will be getting beat up and have its lunch money stolen..lol I really want to make a mold and pop out some smelly feet quick. I don't have time to carve them out of foam. I have To many projects and to little time. Although if you have details on the process I would love to see them for future projects. I just need a mold that will hold up for one time use basically I was thinking about softening some clay making an impression of the feet and making a hot glue mold. That seems to be the quickest and easiest in my mind right now. If anyone has any other ideas please send them my way. Thanks again all. :jol:

or you could cut one out of couch cushion foam. Use make -up for color or paint with spray paint.

Krough, That Flex wax stuff looks good. It doesn't distort when you put two part foam into it as a mold? And how much of it do you think I will need to make two feet? :jol:

If you want to go cheap for a mold, A.C. Moore sells mold latex. Not sure if you have an A.C. Moore near you, but they have weekly coupons for 40% off any one item to get you in the door. You can support your mold with simple plaster. You can use Great Stuff as casting material, but be sure to buy silicon spray lubrication to coat it with, otherwise the expanding foam will stick to the mold and ruin it.
