This is for all the marbles folks. We've had two tourneys, and an undisputed champ from each. We pit these two well loved films against each other now for your pleasure. Who will win when we pit:

Shaun of the Dead vs. Halloween?

Myers has had a grueling bout and doesn't get any respite from our second HMDM before he finds himself facing off against our aimless zombie killer from the first of our matches. Who will come out on top? Cast your vote and may the best film win. :jol:

John Carpenter is a god among directors. "Shaun" is a great zombie flick, but there are others that are better, but when it comes to slasher films, there is only one granddaddy of the genre and that is Halloween. :jol:

Uh...Why was Fright Night one of the contenders? I thought for sure that the presence of William Ragsdale would immediately disqualify any film.
Uh...Because it's simply one of the best Vampire movies ever made. That it beat out other movies that were involved in its part of the tourney to make it to the semi-finals, proves my point. If that movie isn't at least in your Top 10, or 20 of favorite Vampire movies makes me curious as to which ones you think qualify for such a spot. We've had this discussion on the forum before about this particular genre and I stick by my guns that there can't be anymore than 50 good Vampire films total in this world.

Monster Squad is indeed a good film, but don't you worry. I have something special coming up for all you classic monster movie fans (myself included) out there. Stay tuned! :D

Yes, PJ Soles seemed to have a corner on the market of that particular word. It did become annoying but not so much that it took away too much from the films overall impact. Soles isn't a terrible actress, but she's just not very good. :(

And apparently, this didn't effect the voting overly much either. Although, I must say the poll was a lot closer than I expected it to be. Shaun of the Dead is a great film, but it was simply outvoted this time around.

That concludes our first Contest of Champions. What film will face Halloween in our second bout? Find out as we move to the next of our tourneys and close this one down for the time being. :jol:
