Zombies, zombies and more zombies! Aaaahhhh how we on Unpleasant Street love them. Well, folks, we have more rotten goodness lumbering your way. George A. Romero has two entries this series of matches and no, the second one is not the atrocious Land of the Dead. Rather, it is the third film in his quadrilogy, Day of the Dead that squares off against the second film in the Return of the Living Dead series. The first film occurs in an underground army bunker, the second in an in development subdivision. Both have been groused about in various circles, but I for one, think they're both credible entries in the genre. What do you think? Get in and vote for your favorite. :zombie:

ROTLD 2 was the one they had to electrocute the zombies in. You're thinking of the first Return of the Living Dead where they burned them... which just released the zombie toxin into the atmosphere, where it fell to the earth again when it rains and starts the whole process over again.

My vote goes with DotD. ROTLD2 is not one of my favorites. It has some good and funny parts, but overall, it's a snooze-fest.

If you ever see Day of the Dead, Tip, be warned that you might not like it at first. That seems to be the general consensus. However, George Romero's third film in his zombie opus is one of those movies that actually get better with subsequent viewings. So don't despair if at first it seems like a bust, it does get better. :D

I liked both these films (The kids get annoying quick in ROTLD 2 pretty quick, I admit) but for the Joe Pilato role of Capt. Rhodes alone, is "Day" worth seeing. He is the perfect asshole and deserves some type of lifetime Horror achievment award for playing it so well IMHO. So my vote goes to Day of the Dead. :zombie:

You know I will! There's definitely more where that one came from, but you already knew that. :D

Amazingly, the second movie in the RTOLD series squeaks past "Day" for the win. This thread is now officially closed. :zombie:
