Hi
First post on Haunt Forum.
Have been putting up a display annually for about 15 years. It is now a fundraiser for the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation. Here are some online pics from
JD's Halloween 2013.
I came up with a method to make cheap, easy, and HyperQuick™ (not only quick, but hyperly so) hands for any and all creatures. Given the amazing amount of creativity I've witnessed by home haunters, over the years, I have little doubt others independently figured this one out.
Buy a few of these at your local dollar store.
They are quite large - there is an extra finger joint - so there's room to adjust finger length with a pair of clippers. Then put on a pair of work gloves, grab a pair of pliers, and go at it with the heat gun, that indispensable tool of tools.
Once you're happy with the end result, add one coat of flat black spray paint, a coat of dry brushed white latex paint, and whatever finish you want. I finished with a brown exterior stain to make these:
The technique is adaptable to many creatures.
Cheers,
JD
