Nice idea. New to this, so I like the idea of the saw you are using. I am assuming the reindeer motors is just to give a small amount of action to the lid then you will trigger on the saw for "violent" action. Nice!

I built a similar one last year using the same saw and flood motion sensor. Problem I had is that the lowest setting on the flood was 30 seconds. So by the time it was done with the cycle, more tot's were coming through and would trigger it again. It ended up being on almost continuously. Got to rework it...

Limit the detection field by taping or spray painting the lens so there is only a tiny area. It makes the motion detector trigger on a small area only. That way you can have it so the TOT's can only trigger it in one small path. Did that with my MIB so they have to walk directly in front of it before it goes off.

Other than that, great way to pull off the MIB in a low tech package!
