We're talking about the original Leatherface and gang here duking it out with their fellow psychotic inbred cousins, The Firefly Clan. As for the latter film, it is no secret that director Rob Zombie borrowed heavily from the Tobe Hooper splatterfest. They both involve insane backwood yokel serial killers, both are shot with less than quality film, and both have become cult classics since their inception, but realistically, which is better? Admittedly, I am not really a fan of either film, but I can't deny the impact that either have had on our beloved genre. Vote, I will however and I know there are many fans of both movies on this forum, so the sooner you get in here and vote the sooner we can send another film to the quarterfinals.

As much as I love Rob Zombie and House of 1000 Corpses, there's no topping the original. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was raw and absolutely insane. It ushered in a whole new genre of film-making, and nobody's ever been able to capture the same kind of twisted magic since. It definitely gets my vote.

I too gotta go with TCM. It manages to capture a rawness on film that Corpses was unable to attain.

Don't get me wrong, I find 1kC enjoyable, but the characters are too over-the-top, so much to the point they're actually funny where as the chainsaw family is bonkers in a very real, very scary way.

After much debate with myself, I had to go with TCM. In House there were exactly two parts I liked: Any screen time that Sid Haig had and the part at the Pussy Liqour store where baby exhibited her considerable charms and wowed the yokel store keeper Gerry Ober. As I have stated many times before, both movies just didn't do it for me, but at least in TCM there was A CHANCE TO ESCAPE THAT WAS CAPITALIZED ON AND WAS ACCOMPLISHED. That instance, or lack of, in Zombie's film as well as those goddamn artsy-fartsy angles ruined the film IMHO. The whole seventies grainy film totally works for TCM and it got under my skin which it is supposed to do, but I think it was a mediocre story at best. Despite all this, it is far and away a better film than HO1K.

Another landslide victory for the retard who has a thing for chainsaws, human barbeque and dead skin masks. Leatherface and his cretinous family go to the quarter-finals. And we close off this bout and move onto the next.
