I have always wanted some of these big old urns and when I went to my local Florist, bam, 2 of them at about 1/2 what I had ever seen them for. They put them in my trunk and after hauling them around for a couple weeks my Grandson and his friend got them out for me (they weigh a ton). These Petunias seemed to be the perfect color (the orange ones are actually a dusky orange which didn't transfer to my photos no mater how I tried )

Did really well this year with the Pumpkin Patch. I have a total of 12. Hubby brought home a "Prince Charles" pumpkin home last year. I roasted some seeds and kept a few to plant this year. Not bad if I should say so myself.

Here's my Angel Wing mini rose, grown from seed, in bloom. It has 6 other buds about to pop in the same location and bud one up top of the plant. I got this a year ago and it bloomed then, didn't expect blooms again till Spring.

I've been trying to plant some flowers around the house and they keep dying So upset and then I found out today the reason is in order to kill some weeds the yarn guy killed everything. Not happy.

Spring?? I have had many many geraniums over the years and none lived long enough to take indoors in the fall till last fall. Not only is it still alive I have a cheery bright red bloom. And, next to it is my Venus Fly Trap; I have had a number of them over the years but did not even know they would produce a flower and now I have a lovely white one.

Ironic! Around here geraniums seem to grow like weeds and almost as hard to kill. I have a couple in 'suspended animation' in the basement right now. Doubly ironic considering they are supposed to like slightly acidic soil around 6.0pH and our water comes out of the tap pretty alkaline at around 8.2. I try to use rainwater, but that usually dries up around June / early July so if they want anything until ~December, it has to come from the hose!

On the other hand - of the few Venus flytraps I've had, they never looked better than the day I bought them and went down hill regardless of care, light, water...even flies, or any other amenities offered!

Maybe I'll have to try a new batch - I thought by now they would breed them to have 5-6 inch 'traps' and catch small mice/squirrels, etc!
