These are the rules for the "Tournament de Tombstone" challenge. As time progresses, these rules may be ammended to answer any questions or alleviate any concerns that arise during the course of this contest.
Please read all of these rules carefully and post any questions or concerns you may have to this thread and it will be addressed.
Tombstone limitations:
Rules:
If you're a little stumped as to how to design a tombstone, use Google's image search function and browse some photos on the 'net and use them as the basis for your design. You don't need to design your own stone, so feel free to mimic something you find on the 'net or at a real graveyard.
While we're not allowing animations and integrated lighting in the prop this time around, it is ok to use colored lighting while photographing your entry. Get creative with the actual photography this time around. Photograph your entry near the edge of a forest, maybe use blue lighting to illuminate the stone, etc. However, your stone is not allowed to have some feature that requires artificial lighting to function. Doing so breaks the electronics rule outlined in the limitations above.

Please read all of these rules carefully and post any questions or concerns you may have to this thread and it will be addressed.
Tombstone limitations:
- Stone must be of a height equal to or less than 42" tall. One of your photographs must show the entire stone with a ruler/tape measure next to it detailing the size.
- Only tombstones will be admitted. No obelisks, crypts, tombs, monuments, or other super-elaborate markers.
- No animations or other electronics will be allowed in the cosmetics or functionality of the stone. Keep it simple.
- Total cost to build the stone must be $30 or less.
Rules:
- One entry per person.
- An entrant MUST have at least 30 new posts on the forums between April 9th, 2006 and June 30th, 2006.
- Banned members are not eligible to enter.
- Entrants MUST post their entry in the form of a new thread in this forum. The new thread must contain the details of your tombstone and a picture of it as well (link okay).
- The deadline for the entry is June 30th, 2006. Your entry must appear here before the end of the day on June 30th (EDT).
- Details must include a summary of how the tombstone was made and a list of supplies used. How-to's are welcome but not required.
- The list of supplies must specify the cost of each item, and the cost must total $30 or less (or "close enough").
- Supply prices must be reasonable - Using those 15 Bucky skulls that someone sold you for $3 isn't fair, but if you found some scrap lumber or foam in a dumpster, that can be claimed as free. Use your head and some common sense here.
- Expendable and quantity items such as glue, paint, screws, spray foam etc... can be pro-rated.
- Shipping costs to obtain materials shall not be included in your total cost to build. Feel free to obtain materials from eBay or online vendors and only count the cost of the item towards the total.
- All new threads (entries) in this forum will be moderated by Zombie-F before appearing. This is to ensure only valid contest entries make it into the contest.
- On July 1st, a poll will be created and a 7 day period of voting will take place.
- All participants in the challenge must not vote for their own entry. Vote for someone else's item as a courtesy. This helps to avoid a multi-way tie.
- All votes will have their ip addresses checked. If a user appears to have registered numerous accounts to spike the vote, they will be disqualified.
