Pepper's Ghost with window plastic

Has anyone used the shrink window insulation in place of the glass for a pepper's ghost?

I tried it with the 3M window insulation. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but it was covered in what looked more like scratches than wrinkles. No matter how much shrinking I did I could not get them out. I finally went back and got a 36"x48" piece of plexi for $20 at Home Depot. I have not had a chance to play with it yet, but as long as I don't scratch it it should be OK.

Maybe others have had better luck.
